Cross-sector collaborations improve care
Modern Healthcare

A study published in Health Affairs showed that providers that form partnerships with community organizations outside of the healthcare industry could help better control healthcare costs, reduce unnecessary utilization, and avoid readmission. By creating an interconnected network with community organizations – such as job placement, housing, transportation, and other supplementary services – providers are able to gain a 360-degree view of the patient outside of traditional healthcare, allowing them to positively influence health outcomes by taking a population health perspective to healthcare.

Navigating the path to value
Eye for Pharma

The healthcare industry as a whole is making a seismic transformation from measuring outcomes based on volume to value-based prevention and treatment – and pharmaceutical companies are becoming privy to this change as well. To be successful with this change, collaboration between a wide range of organizations will be needed, and perhaps the most important collaboration is between pharma and payers. However, trust and open dialogue between these stakeholders will be a key barrier to break through in order to make the shift to value-based drug pricing.

  1. Consistent funding streams from multiple sources
  2. Community engagement and marketing
  3. Shared accountability and clearly defined roles
